I Love to Be a Mom

Kids can do wonders and provide great distractions. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful, healthy family. My baby boy is a Mama's Boy and I love every minute of it! My girls made cards for me! My 3 year old drew a fire breathing dragon...the art work reminds me of her imagination when we are cloud watching and finding images in the clouds. My 6 year old made me the biggest card I have ever received. The message reads...Dear Mom, I hope you survive cancer. I hope your hair gros bac. I hope they get that thing out of your boob. I Love you to the moon and back.

What more can I say? The cards and the message are priceless. I am so thankful to be a Mom and be surrounded by my "babies".

  1. Your kids are absolutely amazing! They will help you get through this battle, they will be your strength and of course Dan will be there for you too! You are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and many friends that LOVE you and want to see this fight to the end, even though we know the outcome, it will be wonderful to see the beast go down and you standing with your arms in the air singing and dancing with your husband and kids! I hate seeing you have to go through this but I am so proud of your courage and strength, you are the BEST little sister in the world and I am proud to call you MINE! Us prayer warriors are going to pray very hard today as you go in and figure out the game plan to KO this beast. I love you to the Moon and Back! XOXOXOXOXO Your Favorite Sis

  2. Dan and Mary,
Your kids will be your biggest motivator, light at the end of a bad day, and definitely your greatest joy as you fight your battle. Because Kevin wasn't in school when I went through this, he went with me to several appointments. If he didn't go, the nurses were like, "Where's Kevin?" Proof that kids bring joy to all. It's been 15 years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Prayer is powerful and you have lots of people praying for you. You will definitely come out the winner. Please let us know if you ever need anything.

  3. Mary,
Karie emailed me the link to your blog. Your family has always gone above and beyond to help me and my family, even all the way back to 31 years ago when my mom lost her struggle with breast cancer to just this past year when my son, Kyle received his heart transplant. I want to help you fight also. I will be praying for you. You will see the prayers will work and you will feel God's presence with your as you go through this struggle. We will all be with you. Please keep us updated and let us know how we can help.

  4. You have always known how to make me laugh, even in the face of adversity. I printed off your latest post to share with Kelsey when I get home. She will get the biggest kick out of Malia's card!!
Take great care of yourself and know that you are loved by so many.
    XOXO,

  5. good morning mary and family! just dropping in to let you know that i'm thinking bout you today. also wanted to say thanks for all the strong words of encouragement that you provided me last night. probably couldn't have come at a better time. i was feeling pretty weak and tj wasn't around to keep an eye on me. however, today i feel strong!!! i think i climbed over the hump last night.

Big brother bull just called as i write this message...says he was just checking on me and that he wanted to chew my behind for his achy legs. i explained that if he would have just stuck to the marathon training regimen...maybe they wouldn't ache...and maybe they would... (-:

  6. A child's innocence is something we can all appreciate. They help us to put life in perspective and lighten the moment when most needed. They will amaze you when you least expect it! Many thoughts and prayers to you and your family today as you figure out your next steps. Stay strong and fight hard...we all know you will.
